Together with partners, HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions North America is planning, building, financing and operating the new Champlain Bridge in Montreal. Contracted by the Canadian government, the “Signature on the Saint-Lawrence Group” project company is building the bridge across the famous St. Lawrence River which is one of the most important transportation axes on the U.S.-Canadian border. Apart from HOCHTIEF, the other members of the consortium are ACS, Flatiron, Dragados Canada, and the Canadian company SNC-Lavalin.
An eight-lane highway covering a total distance of 3.4 kilometers should guarantee the smooth flow of traffic on this important commercial and transit route between the USA and Canada. Construction is scheduled to take four-and-a-half years. The new bridge should be completed as early as the end of 2018, with completion of the remaining sections of the around eight-kilometer overall route by the end of 2019.
The New Champlain Bridge Corridor Project is seen as one of the most important transportation infrastructure projects in North America.
